📋 Definition and Missions of the Department

The Department of Telecommunication Systems was established under the provisions of Ministerial Decision No. 201 dated February 14, 2023, concerning the creation of the departments constituting the Institute of Telecommunications within the University of Guelma.

The department provides high‑quality training in the field of Telecommunication Systems, focused on mastering the fundamental principles of Telecommunication Systems and their applications, mobile communications and cellular networks, management and security of Intranet Protocol (IP) networks, optical fiber networks and communications, their systems and applications, antennas and microwave circuits and their applications, advanced signal processing and digital communications and their applications, very high‑speed communications, engineering of detection systems and their applications, communication services and networks, encryption and security of networks and electronic systems, as well as artificial intelligence. The training is primarily based on programs combining lectures, tutorials, practical work, field visits and internships in the communications and networks sectors.

The current mission of the department is to enable students to acquire high‑level scientific training within the framework of an Integrated Master's Program (MCIL) (Bac+5) in telecommunications, culminating in the award of two degrees:

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications.

• Master's degree in Telecommunications.

The department also currently supervises LMD doctorate students in telecommunications in collaboration with the telecommunications laboratory.

In accordance with the provisions of Executive Decree No. 08‑130 of 27 Rabi’ al‑Thani 1429 corresponding to May 3, 2008, on the special status of the lecturer‑researcher, in particular Article 61, the Head of the Training Program Team is mainly responsible for:

• Leading the work of the training domain team.

• Proposing the pedagogical program for the training pathways.

• Planning bridges between training pathways for the progressive orientation of students.

• Developing appropriate teaching methods.

• Organizing the evaluation of training programs and teaching.

• Ensuring the coherence of the pathways and deciding on the advisability of maintaining or modifying a training pathway.

• Ensuring the overall coherence of the internships provided for in the training.

• Assisting the Head of Department in the pedagogical management of undergraduate higher education.

He is also responsible for:

• Leading the work of the training program team.

• Proposing the list of specializations that make up the program.

• Proposing the opening or closing of specializations within the program.

• Monitoring the implementation of tutoring in the first cycle.

• Setting up a process for carrying out and monitoring internships.

• Proposing pedagogical measures for the proper functioning of the common cores of undergraduate higher education.

In accordance with the provisions of Executive Decree No. 08‑130 of 27 Rabi’ al‑Thani 1429 corresponding to May 3, 2008, on the special status of the lecturer‑researcher, in particular Article 62, the Head of the Specialization Team is mainly responsible for:

• Leading the work of the specialization team.

• Ensuring the achievement of the training objectives in the specialization for which he is responsible.

• Proposing any measure to improve the training program of the specialization.

• Promoting and stimulating mechanisms for the professional integration of graduates.

• Proposing pedagogical measures for the proper functioning of the specializations in undergraduate higher education.
