🏛️ Institute Presentation

The Institute of Telecommunications is a specialized unit for training and research in the field of telecommunications, affiliated with the University of May 8, 1945 Guelma under the provisions of Executive Decree No. 03-279 of August 23, 2003, amended and supplemented by Executive Decree No. 06-343 of September 27, 2006, defining the university's missions and specific rules for its organization and operation.

📋 Legal Accreditation

The institute was created by Executive Decree No. 22-390 of November 21, 2022, specifically its Article 1, defining the institute within the University of Guelma.

🔬 Research Laboratory

The Telecommunications Laboratory (LT) is a research unit affiliated with the University of May 8, 1945 Guelma, established under ministerial decree number 146/2011 dated March 16, 2011. In accordance with decision number 106 of the University of Guelma dated July 18, 2023, the Telecommunications Laboratory was integrated into the Institute of Telecommunications.

🚀 Historical Development

The Institute of Telecommunications represents an evolution of the Telecommunications stream launched at the University of Guelma since the academic year 2005/2006 to train State Engineers and Masters in the classical system, as well as training in the L.M.D. (Licence – Master – Doctorate) system in the field of telecommunications.

🎯 Strategic Objectives

The Institute of Telecommunications aims to provide high-level training to students, enabling them to perform specialized functions in their field, create startups, or pursue their studies while considering national socio-economic needs. Specifically, it gradually and thoughtfully trains qualified professionals for positions and responsibilities in national public and private companies, as well as multinational companies operating in Algeria, in the fields of research and development, and in the management of major national programs, based on areas of specialization and skills related to training, but also for positions and responsibilities in research training and for research, to meet the needs of higher education institutions in teacher-researchers and permanent researchers in this vital field.

📚 Training Fields

The institute provides high-level training in various specialties, particularly in the field of communication systems and their applications, mobile communications, networks, optical communications and their systems and applications, antennas and microwave devices and their applications, signal processing and its applications, very high-speed communications, detection systems, their engineering and applications, communication services and networks, cryptography, network and electronic systems security, as well as artificial intelligence. On the other hand, the institute places great importance on ensuring high-quality continuing education for the benefit of various sectors operating and/or using telecommunications and their applications in a first stage, and plans to provide distance learning in a second stage.

🤝 Strategic Partners

Regarding the relationship with the socio-economic sector, the training provided by the Institute of Telecommunications concerns the field of communications and advanced information and communication technologies. The targeted partners are mainly telecommunications operators (Algérie Télécom, Mobilis, Djezzy, Ooredoo, etc.), including many economic actors and institutions using telecommunications infrastructures and platforms such as Sonatrach, Sonelgaz and others, as well as ministerial sectors such as the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of National Defense and others, as well as manufacturers of technological equipment in this sector operating in Algeria.
