📋 Missions of the Scientific Council
The Scientific Council of the Institute issues its opinions and recommendations, according to Article 68 of Executive Decree No. 03-279 of August 23, 2003, on the following matters:
1 The organization and content of teaching programs.
2 The organization of research work.
3 Proposals for research programs.
4 Proposals for the creation or closure of departments and/or fields of study, as well as research units and laboratories.
5 Proposals for opening, renewing and/or closing postgraduate programs and the number of available positions.
6 Profiles and needs for teaching staff.
It is also responsible for:
- Approving research topics proposed by postgraduate students and proposing the defense examination panels.
- Proposing panels for university accreditation (habilitation).
- Examining the reports on pedagogical and scientific activities of the faculty, which are transmitted, along with the council's opinions and recommendations, to the rector.
It may be asked to consider any other academic or scientific matter submitted by the director.

The Scientific Council of the Institute exercises the powers of the Research Unit Scientific Council stipulated in Article 16 of Executive Decree No. 99-257 of November 16, 1999, which sets the procedures for the creation, organization and operation of research units. As such, it examines and gives its opinion notably on: the unit's research projects and activity programs, the organization of scientific and technological work, the creation and dissolution of research departments and research teams.
